The fund's aim is to achieve long term capital growth through investing primarily in the equities of Emerging Markets companies. The fund may use derivatives and forward transactions for purposes that are limited to efficient portfolio management. If desirable, the fund may invest further in other securities (including fixed interest securities, other equities and money market securities).

Irina Miklavchich joined Threadneedle in 2011 as a senior fund manager on emerging market equities. In this role, she is responsible for managing a number of portfolios, including the Threadneedle Global Emerging Markets Equity Fund, as well as generating ideas for the wider investment team.
Before joining Threadneedle, Irina spent eight years with Goldman Sachs, where she managed EMEA portfolios within the Principal Strategies group. Prior to that she was part of the global emerging markets team at Goldman Sachs Asset Management.
Irina holds a diploma in international economics from the Moscow Institute of International Relations and gained an MBA from INSEAD in France in 2002. She is also a CFA charterholder.
