American Smaller Companies
The Threadneedle American Smaller Companies Fund was launched in 1997 and has a strong track record of out-performance versus its benchmark index over 1, 3 and 5 years. Managed by Head of US Equities Cormac Weldon, the fund benefits from the same proven, fundamental investment process that underpins Threadneedle's other successful US equity products. The portfolio incorporates research ideas from across Threadneedle's highly-regarded US team and is also supported by an independent risk management function. The fund is an excellent way to access the undoubted entrepreneurial spirit of corporate America and is likely to be of interest to experienced investors seeking to diversify their growth portfolios.
The fund aims to generate long-term capital growth by investing primarily in small US companies. The portfolio typically consists of 50 to 70 stocks, most of which have market capitalisations between U$1bn and U$5bn.
